Did You Know That Even Short Trips Can Improve Quality of Life?

Researchers from the University of the Sunshine Coast and the University of Canterbury studied the relationship between travel frequency and quality of life. Three surveys involved 599, 290, and 379 Australian travelers, respectively.

Preliminary results showed that the more frequently a person travels, the higher their level of subjective well-being tends to be.

However, a more detailed analysis found that traveling alone does not always guarantee an improvement in well-being.

The effects of travel appear mainly indirectly: stepping outside one’s comfort zone can increase resilience to stress and improve mood. This, in turn, can have a positive impact on overall well-being.
