Windows 11 to Get a Full Data Erasure Feature

Microsoft has expanded the recovery capabilities of Windows 11. The Cloud Rebuild mechanism, which is currently being tested, now includes a feature for securely and completely erasing data from storage devices before reinstalling the system.

Unlike conventional formatting, after which data may sometimes be recovered using specialized software, the new method uses the storage device’s own hardware commands to fully erase the information stored on it.

Once the cleaning process is complete, Cloud Rebuild automatically downloads a clean copy of the operating system and the necessary drivers through Windows Update.

No installation media is required.
