Consultative Seminar Held at UNFPA’s Office in Turkmenistan

A consultative seminar with members of the Working Group on ensuring the implementation of Turkmenistan’s international obligations in the field of human rights and international humanitarian law was held at the UN building in Ashgabat.

The event was jointly organized by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Country Office in Turkmenistan and the Institute of State, Law and Democracy of Turkmenistan. It was dedicated to studying international experience in applying temporary special measures and the national mechanism for improving the status of women, in accordance with the recommendations of the Committee on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW).

The seminar reflects the government’s systematic work and consistent efforts to practically implement its international human rights obligations.
