At What Ages Does the Human Body Begin to Age Faster?
People usually associate aging with the passage of time. However, research has shown that certain changes in the body may occur more rapidly at particular ages.
Researchers at Stanford University studied thousands of molecules in the bodies of 108 people aged 25 to 75 over several years. They found that the first major changes occur on average around the age of 44. During this period, more changes were observed in molecules associated with fat metabolism, the cardiovascular system, skin and muscles.
The second period is considered to be around the age of 60. At this stage, changes associated with the immune system, kidneys, carbohydrate metabolism, the cardiovascular system, skin and muscles become more common.
Thus, the periods around ages 44 and 60 may be stages when the body undergoes more biological changes.
