Is Your Child’s Tooth Decay Caused by Chocolate or Fruit Juices?
According to doctors, fruit juices and purées intended for children may actually be more harmful to a child’s teeth than ordinary sweets and chocolate.
How can this be explained? Children usually finish sweets in one sitting. Fruit juices and purées, however, are often consumed little by little over a longer period of time, including while children are out and about.
As a result, when these products are consumed gradually throughout the day, the teeth are repeatedly exposed to acid. This can contribute to tooth decay.
For this reason, doctors recommend giving children fruit juices and purées mainly during mealtimes.
