Turkmenistan to Chair the Group of Landlocked Developing Countries

A regular meeting of Permanent Representatives to the UN from the Group of Landlocked Developing Countries was held at UN Headquarters in New York, where a new composition of the Group’s governing body for 2027–2028 was elected.

With the unanimous support of the Group’s members, Turkmenistan was elected Chair of the Group of Landlocked Developing Countries for the specified period. Turkmenistan’s chairmanship will begin on January 1, 2027.
