Toyota Preparing an All-New Corolla

Toyota is preparing a new generation of the Corolla, which could appear as early as next year.

According to preliminary information, the traditional sedan may switch to a liftback body style and could also be offered as a plug-in hybrid and a fully electric model.

The Corolla remains one of Toyota’s best-selling models: in the first six months of the year, U.S. dealers sold 131,403 vehicles, up 9.5% from the previous year. This figure is especially notable considering that the current generation has been on the market for nearly a decade.

The design of the new Corolla is expected to resemble the Corolla concept presented at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show.

According to Car and Driver, the vehicle could adopt a liftback body style combining characteristics of the current sedan and hatchback.

At the same time, Toyota is seeking to reduce the number of model variants to improve profitability, which could also affect the Corolla lineup.
