The New York Times Names the Best TV Series of the 21st Century

The New York Times has published a list of the 100 best TV series of the 21st century.

More than 500 people took part in compiling the ranking, including actors, screenwriters, series creators, producers, and other television industry professionals. Each participant was allowed to name ten series.

Among the voters were writer Stephen King, “The Simpsons” creator Matt Groening, YouTube CEO Neal Mohan, as well as actors who have appeared in popular television series.

Only series that premiered after January 1, 2000, were eligible for inclusion. For this reason, “The Sopranos” did not make the list.

However, the compilers noted that the series had a major influence on nearly all of the best television shows created over the past quarter-century.
