President of Turkmenistan Holds Telephone Conversation with Prime Minister of Armenia

A telephone conversation was held between the President of Turkmenistan and Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan. The leaders warmly greeted one another and expressed satisfaction with the opportunity to discuss priority areas of interstate relations.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted that Turkmenistan’s achievements are highly valued in Armenia and that great importance is attached to the further development of cooperation based on friendship and equality. Taking the opportunity, he also conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag.

The President of Turkmenistan thanked him for the kind words and stated that bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Armenia are founded on the principles of mutual trust, respect and openness.

The head of government of the friendly country emphasized the importance of Turkmenistan’s international initiatives aimed at ensuring global environmental well-being and invited the President of Turkmenistan to participate in the Leaders’ Summit to be held in Yerevan in October of this year ahead of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 17).

The President of Turkmenistan thanked him for the invitation, noting that the event would be an important occasion in environmental protection, and confirmed Turkmenistan’s active participation.

The telephone conversation also included an exchange of views on the agenda of Turkmen-Armenian relations. The importance of further advancing bilateral cooperation in various fields was noted.

At the conclusion of the conversation, the President of Turkmenistan and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan expressed confidence that relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Armenia would continue to develop steadily for the benefit of both peoples. They wished one another good health, prosperity and great success in their responsible public duties, and wished the friendly peoples of both countries well-being.

The telephone conversation took place at the initiative of the Armenian side.
