Republic of Korea Invites Applicants to Join Government Scholarship Program

The National Institute for International Education (NIIED) under the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea has announced the opening of applications for the 2027 «Global Korea Scholarship» (GKS) government scholarship program for international undergraduate applicants. Under the program, two candidates from Turkmenistan will be accepted: one under the general track and one under the «R-GKS» program.

The academic program includes one year of preparatory Korean language training, after which students may continue their undergraduate studies for a period of four to six years.

Citizens of Turkmenistan born after March 1, 2002, who are under the age of 25 and have graduated or will graduate from secondary school or a secondary vocational institution (college) by December 31, 2026, are invited to apply.

Applications opened on September 15 this year and will be accepted until 6:00 p.m. Korea time on September 30. To participate in the competition, applicants must register in the «Study in Korea» integrated information system and submit an application. Documents prepared in Turkmen or Russian must be accompanied by an English translation.

Information on the results of the preliminary document screening and interview dates will be provided individually to each applicant after October 8 this year.
