Representatives of Turkmenistan’s Mejlis Attend Political Parties Dialogue in Uzbekistan
Representatives of Turkmenistan’s Mejlis took part in the Central Asia–China Political Parties Dialogue held in Samarkand, Republic of Uzbekistan. The main purpose of the dialogue was to strengthen regional agreements reached at the level of heads of state at the legislative, political and public levels, as well as to reinforce strategic cooperation in the Central Asia–China format.
In his address, a representative of Turkmenistan’s Mejlis emphasized that the country’s foreign policy, based on its permanent neutrality status recognized three times by the United Nations, is being consistently developed and enriched with new substance on the principles of mutual respect, trust and equality in relations with the states of the region and the People’s Republic of China.
In this regard, it was noted that Turkmenistan views the Central Asia–China format as an important instrument for strengthening economic relations among the countries of the region, expanding transport and fuel-and-energy connectivity, and promoting joint initiatives. Events and meetings held in this area constitute an important platform for further strengthening friendly relations and bridges of trust between peoples.
