Why Do Hair Become Dry and Start Falling Out After Summer?
After summer, some people notice that their hair becomes drier, rougher, and more prone to breakage. The reason is not only the change in weather.
During the summer months, hair is exposed for long periods to sunlight, seawater, and chlorinated pool water. The sun’s ultraviolet rays can damage the outer layer of the hair and the proteins within it, causing dryness and breakage.
Sunlight can also cause dyed hair to fade more quickly.
To help restore hair after summer, it may be useful to avoid frequent styling with very hot hair dryers or straighteners and to use a moisturizing conditioner.
After swimming in the sea or a pool, it is also recommended to rinse the hair with clean water.
