Turkmen Alabay That Won Beauty Contest Awarded a Toyota Corolla

A Turkmen Alabay named Arwana, which won a beauty contest for Turkmen Alabay dogs, was awarded a Toyota Corolla.

The contest was held on September 29 as part of the opening ceremony of the Akhal-Teke Equestrian Complex of the President of Turkmenistan. The judges selected the most outstanding dogs among seven Alabays taking part in the beauty contest dedicated to one of the national values of the Turkmen people.

Traditional wrestling bouts, an integral feature of Turkmen celebrations, were also held at the festive venue.

In the contest for the honorary title of “Baş pälwan,” victory went to Nurmuhammet Baydogdyyev, a wrestler from Baherden district of Ahal velayat who currently works as a physical education teacher at the Sachly Dursunova Secondary Medical Vocational School in Arkadag City.
