11th International Training Conference on Sustainable Development of the Caspian Sea Opens

The 11th International Training Conference titled “The Caspian Sea: Sustainable Development and Management” has begun. The opening ceremony at the Arçabil Hotel was attended by Xiaojun Grace Wang, UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan; Antonella Vassallo, Executive Director of the International Ocean Institute; Dr. Parvin Farshchi, Director of the conference; Dr. Andrei Abramich, a leading expert in marine spatial planning; and Murat Atajanov, Director of Turkmenistan’s Caspian Sea Institute.

Speakers highlighted the conference’s important role in strengthening regional cooperation and developing the professional capacity of specialists in the sustainable use and conservation of the Caspian Sea. The international training conference will continue until September 18.
