Head of the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia in Turkmenistan Mergen Kepbanow Meets Kyrgyz Ambassador

Mergen Kepbanow, Director of the Turkmenistan Project Office of the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia, met with Kyrgyz Ambassador Azizbek Madmarov.

The parties discussed strengthening regional cooperation in environmental protection, climate change adaptation, sustainable development and environmental education.

During the talks, Mergen Kepbanow outlined the activities of the centre’s project office in Turkmenistan related to natural resource management, biodiversity conservation and coordinating the efforts of experts, government institutions and international organizations.

The parties paid particular attention to preparations for the ninth Central Asia Climate Change Conference, which will be held in Bishkek as part of the Mountain Summit and dedicated to the resilience of mountain ecosystems.
