Barcelona Rejects Partnership Proposal

Football club Barcelona rejected a financial partnership proposal from Revolut bank.

The reason was the bank’s cooperation with Portuguese footballer Luís Figo.

Figo played for Barcelona from 1995 to 2000. Later, he made an unexpected move to the club’s main rival, Real Madrid.

The transfer became one of the most controversial events in the history of the rivalry between the two clubs.

Barcelona supporters considered the move a betrayal.

Figo’s first appearance for Real Madrid at Barcelona’s Camp Nou stadium in November 2000 was played in an especially tense atmosphere.

The Portuguese footballer was greeted by fans with loud boos and offensive chants.
