Young Turkmen Chess Players Win 24 Medals at the Kids Expo Chess Cup 2026 International Tournament

The Kids Expo Chess Cup 2026 international rapid and blitz chess tournament for cadets concluded in Ashgabat. Over two days, 94 young chess players from eight countries—Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Türkiye and Uzbekistan—competed across six categories. The rapid competition consisted of seven rounds, while the blitz competition featured nine rounds.

The tournament was held as an individual competition under FIDE regulations, with international ratings taken into account. A total of 12 sets of medals, comprising 36 medals overall, were awarded.

Turkmenistan’s national team topped the medal standings with 24 medals: seven gold, nine silver and eight bronze.
