Turkmen athletes won four medals on the first day of the championship
The 11th Central Asian WKF Karate Championship is currently being held in Aktau, Republic of Kazakhstan.
On the first day of the championship, athletes from our country won one gold, one silver and two bronze medals. Around 500 athletes from Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan are taking part in the championship.
The national team of our country is represented at the championship by 36 athletes, 4 coaches, 6 referees and 1 representative. On the first day of the championship, our compatriots won medals in the kata discipline.
More specifically, among 14-year-old competitors, Muhammetresul Haýrullaýew, a seventh-grade pupil at Secondary School No. 18 in Bayramaly, Mary Velayat, won the gold medal. In the competition among athletes aged 16–17, Allanur Ýalkabow, an eleventh-grade pupil at Specialised Secondary School No. 52, won the silver medal. In the youngest age category, for athletes aged 10–11, Musa Gurbanow, a fifth-grade pupil at Secondary School No. 6 in Bayramaly, Mary Velayat, and Şirmuhammet Garymyradow, a fourth-grade pupil at Secondary School No. 11 in Bayramaly, won bronze medals.
