Electronic entry authorization will become mandatory for foreigners entering Kazakhstan

An electronic entry authorization will become mandatory for all foreign nationals entering Kazakhstan, including travelers from Eurasian Economic Union countries who currently benefit from special privileges. The authorization will need to be obtained through the “QazETA” app no later than 72 hours before entry and will remain valid for 180 days.

A government resolution regulating entry rules for Kazakhstan is currently being coordinated with state agencies. The electronic authorization will initially be issued free of charge, although a fee is planned to be introduced in the future. The system will be implemented in stages: starting on September 1, February 1 and July 1, first at major airports and later at road and railway border checkpoints.
