A high-level national round-table meeting on “Strengthening Systems to Support Exclusive Breastfeeding” was held at the “Yyldyz” Hotel.

The large-scale event was attended by Oguljahan Atabayeva, Vice-President of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship, as well as representatives of the Mejlis, the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry, relevant institutions and higher education establishments, public organisations, the media, international organisations, including the UN and its specialised agencies, major international financial institutions and the country’s diplomatic missions.

During the meeting, the speakers addressed the importance of exclusive breastfeeding and emphasised the need to use the opportunity provided by the ongoing World Breastfeeding Week to assess the progress achieved and determine future steps.

At the meeting, O. Atabayeva noted that investing in breastfeeding is an investment in the future of the nation.

After the speeches, animated videos supporting exclusive breastfeeding were shown.

The meeting then continued with thematic sessions.
