Turkmen karate athletes won 21 medals at the Central Asian Championship
Turkmen athletes won a total of 21 medals — 4 gold, 7 silver and 10 bronze — at the 11th Central Asian WKF Karate Championship held in Aktau, Kazakhstan.
The competition brought together 421 karate athletes from Iran, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The Turkmenistan national team finished fourth in the overall medal standings.
As previously reported, Turkmen athletes won four medals in kata on the first day of the competition. On the second day, they earned nine medals in kumite. On the final day, the Turkmen karate athletes added another eight awards to the national team’s medal tally.
The national team was prepared for the competition by head coach Aýdyn Çaryýew, his assistant Esenbaý Ýazmedow, and coaches Maksat Atdaýew and Serdar Muhammetnazarow.
