Final Stage of the “Chalsana, Bagshy!” Creative Competition Held

The final stage of the “Chalsana, Bagshy!” competition for bakhshi singers and dutar musicians was held at the Mukams Palace of the State Cultural Center. The event formed part of the competition for the President of Turkmenistan’s “Golden Age of the Turkmen” award.

Numerous cultural and arts professionals, alongside residents of the capital, gathered to watch the young performers. They also listened to a congratulatory message from the President of Turkmenistan addressed to the finalists.

The competition featured performers aged 18 to 35, reflecting the importance of supporting young people as part of national policy. Fourteen bakhshi singers and 14 dutar musicians from Ashgabat, Arkadag and the country’s regions advanced to the final after winning the preliminary rounds.

The opening section featured performances by dutar musicians. Their skillfully played folk melodies reflected the historical legacy of the Turkmen people, while musical traditions from different regions added variety to the competition.

The second section focused on Turkmen folk songs. Inspired by the support that Hero-Arkadag and the President of Turkmenistan extend to young artists, the contestants performed with particular enthusiasm.

The program also included performances celebrating Turkmen musical culture, the country’s peaceful traditions and Akhal-Teke horses, which symbolize the nation’s rapid development.

In total, 14 bakhshi singers and dutar musicians were declared winners, each receiving a special diploma and a gold chain. All participants were also presented with commemorative gifts on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan.
