The first Turkmen-Bangladeshi political consultations were held
Political consultations were held in Ashgabat between the foreign ministries of Turkmenistan and the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. The delegations were headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov and Ambassador Nazrul Islam, Secretary for Bilateral Relations with Eastern and Western Countries at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
During the talks, the sides actively exchanged views on key issues on the bilateral agenda and reviewed the level of political and diplomatic dialogue between the two states. The parties noted the importance of arranging high-level and top-level visits in order to expand the scope of interstate relations.
The diplomats reaffirmed the importance of maintaining regular contacts between the foreign ministries of the two countries. In this context, the sides agreed to work on arranging reciprocal visits by the foreign ministers.
