Direct air service may be established between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan
The establishment of direct air services between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan was discussed. The issue was raised during a meeting between Shadurdy Meredov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan, and representatives of Uzbekistan’s transport and logistics sector.
The talks covered the electronic processing of visas for drivers and the simplification of payment procedures, improvements to the Farap–Alat border crossing, as well as measures to reduce queues and waiting times.
Particular attention was also given to creating a separate corridor for perishable goods, constructing a second bridge in the neutral zone, accelerating road and rail freight transportation through the Turkmenbashi International Seaport, reviewing weight and size restrictions, and establishing direct air services between the two countries.
