Makhachev won at the UFC tournament

The Russian fighter defeated Ireland’s Ian Garry at welterweight and retained his UFC championship title. The bout went the full five rounds and ended with a unanimous decision victory for the Russian athlete.

Makhachev set a new record for the longest winning streak in UFC history. He now has a professional record of 29 wins and one loss. His only UFC defeat came in his second fight in the promotion on October 3, 2015, when Brazil’s Adriano Martins knocked him out in the first round.

Before the fight with Garry, Makhachev held first place in the UFC pound-for-pound rankings. The 28-year-old Garry has a record of 17 wins and two losses and is ranked second in the UFC welterweight division.
