CAREC Project Office Director in Turkmenistan Mergen Kepbanov Meets with Kazakhstan’s Ambassador

Mergen Kepbanov, Director of the Turkmenistan Project Office of the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC), met with Nurlan Askarovich Nogayev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, Kepbanov outlined CAREC’s activities, including the organization’s main areas of work, ongoing regional initiatives and events held in Turkmenistan with its support.

It was also noted that the 9th Central Asia Climate Change Conference is planned for 2027 in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, as part of the Mountain Summit. The parties emphasized the importance of Turkmenistan’s continued participation in regional climate initiatives and stronger cooperation among Central Asian countries.

Kepbanov also discussed CAREC’s cooperation with Green University in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and proposed exploring opportunities to inform prospective applicants from Turkmenistan about the university’s educational programs and encourage their participation.
