France is banning teenagers from using social media
The French Parliament has approved a law banning children under the age of 15 from using social media.
The ban will come into force on 1 September and will apply to new accounts created by children and teenagers under the age of 15.
At the same time, the law does not provide for specific penalties for teenagers or their parents.
The European Union authorities are also currently preparing their own draft law regulating children’s access to social media.
