A large package of documents was signed in Georgia
A ceremony for the signing of bilateral documents was held in Tbilisi following high-level talks between the President of Turkmenistan and Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
At the Government Building of Georgia, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze solemnly signed a Joint Statement.
Overall, as part of the esteemed President’s state visit to the friendly country, the legal and contractual framework of Turkmen–Georgian cooperation was supplemented by a number of bilateral documents covering various fields.
The documents signed and exchanged during the visit included a Programme of Cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia for 2027–2028; a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Prosecutor General’s Office of Turkmenistan and the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia; a Memorandum of Understanding on healthcare cooperation between the Ministry of Healthcare and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan and Georgia’s Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs; a Memorandum of Understanding on educational cooperation between the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia; a Memorandum of Understanding on cultural cooperation between the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Culture of Georgia; a Memorandum of Understanding between the Financial Monitoring Service under the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan and the Financial Monitoring Service of Georgia on cooperation in exchanging financial information related to money laundering, terrorist financing and the financing of the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction; and a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia on cooperation in state property management and privatisation.
The documents also included a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Industry and Construction Production of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia on the further development of industrial cooperation; a Memorandum between the Ministry of Railway Transport of Turkmenistan and Georgian Railway Joint Stock Company on the further strengthening of cooperation; a Memorandum between the State Service of Maritime and River Transport of Turkmenistan and the Legal Entity of Public Law Maritime Transport Agency of Georgia on cooperation in maritime transport safety; a Memorandum of Understanding between the State Service of Maritime and River Transport of Turkmenistan and the Legal Entity of Public Law Batumi State Maritime Academy on cooperation in specialist training and maritime education; a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Main Academic Drama Theatre of Turkmenistan named after the Great Saparmurat Turkmenbashy and the Shota Rustaveli National Theatre; a Memorandum of Understanding between the Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan named after the Great Saparmurat Turkmenbashy and the Georgian Union of Palace Museums; a Memorandum of Understanding between the Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan named after the Great Saparmurat Turkmenbashy and the Royal Asiatic Society of Georgia; a Memorandum of Understanding on library cooperation between the State Library of the State Cultural Centre of Turkmenistan and the Legal Entity of Public Law Ilia Chavchavadze National Library of Georgia; a Memorandum of Understanding on bilateral cooperation between the Maya Kuliyeva Turkmen National Conservatory and the Vano Sarajishvili Tbilisi State Conservatoire; a Memorandum on cooperation between Magtymguly Turkmen State University and the Legal Entity of Public Law Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University; a Memorandum of Understanding between the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University and Georgian Technical University; a Memorandum of Understanding between the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction and Georgian Technical University; and a Memorandum of Understanding between the Institute of Engineering, Technical and Transport Communications of Turkmenistan and Batumi State Maritime Academy of Georgia.
These documents outline specific areas of joint work to be implemented across various fields.
