Teachers and students of the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas are undertaking industrial training and professional development courses at the Petronas University of Technology in Malaysia.

For several years, mutually beneficial and friendly cooperation in science and education has continued between this higher education institution of Turkmenistan, Petronas Carigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn Bhd, which operates in the country’s oil and gas sector, and the Petronas University of Technology in Malaysia.

In 2024, a new Memorandum of Understanding was signed to continue this cooperation and further expand its scope.

Under the Memorandum, as in previous years, a group of university students and teachers departed on 14 July this year for an educational visit to the Petronas University of Technology in Malaysia to undertake practical training and professional development courses.

The university’s Special Training Centre prepared a relevant programme for the two-week practical training course and the one-week professional development programme.

In accordance with the programme, the university’s students and teachers will attend classes on mastering new technologies in their respective fields and on introducing digital technologies and artificial intelligence into production.

They will also become closely acquainted with the organisation of the educational process, training laboratories, educational centres, research activities at the Petronas University of Technology in Malaysia, and the company’s production facilities.

The practical training conducted at the Petronas University of Technology in Malaysia is of great importance to students, as it will help them enrich their theoretical knowledge with practical skills. The professional development courses will also help teachers consistently introduce advanced international experience into the educational process.
