Turkmen school students performed successfully at an Olympiad held in Tashkent

The 58th International Chemistry Olympiad was held in Tashkent, the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan, from 10 to 19 July this year.

The prestigious international competition brought together 363 talented school students from 92 countries. Participants demonstrated their theoretical knowledge of chemistry and their ability to carry out laboratory experiments.

Turkmenistan was represented by a team from the specialised comprehensive boarding school named after Saparmurat Turkmenbashy in Ashgabat.

According to the results, 11th-grade student Palwan Ilmammedov won a silver medal, while 12th-grade students Diyar Dowletov, Aylar Orunova and Rustem Jumayev were awarded bronze medals.

As a result, Turkmen students won one silver and three bronze medals, once again adding to the country’s achievements at international chemistry Olympiads.
