Argentina are through to the World Cup final. Messi’s team defeated England 2–1

Argentina came from behind to defeat England 2–1 in the 2026 World Cup semifinal.

Anthony Gordon opened the scoring in the 55th minute. The new Barcelona signing finished Morgan Rogers’ cross from the flank.

Argentina equalised in the 86th minute when Enzo Fernández scored from outside the penalty area following a pass from Lionel Messi.

Six minutes later, Lautaro Martínez headed in from Messi’s delivery to secure victory for Argentina.

Argentina advanced to the 2026 World Cup final, where they will face Spain. England will play France in the third-place match. Both games will take place on July 19.
