Toyota Preparing to Launch an Updated Corolla in 2028

Japanese automaker Toyota is planning to begin production of a new generation of the popular Corolla model in China in 2028.

According to AutoHome, the vehicle will retain the Corolla name, while its design will resemble the version presented in 2025, and it will be offered with several conventional powertrain options.

The new model will be built on a Toyota platform currently used in the Lexus ES series.

This technical solution is expected to help significantly reduce the costs of developing and testing the vehicle.
