President of Turkmenistan Holds Working Meeting
On September 7, the President of Turkmenistan held a working meeting attended by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahallyýew and the khyakims of the regions. The meeting considered matters related to seasonal work in the country’s agricultural sector and regions.
The khyakims of Ahal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary Regions reported on the progress of agricultural activities. They outlined preparations for the ceremonial start of the cotton harvest, the progress of wheat sowing, the supply of high-quality seeds to producers and the effective use of agricultural machinery.
Agronomic work continues in the regions on fields planted with potatoes, vegetables, melons and other crops. In Dashoguz and Lebap Regions, maintenance work is underway on rice fields, while in Mary Region, inter-row cultivation, mineral fertilization and irrigation are continuing on sugar beet fields.
The regional leaders also reported on construction progress at cultural, social and industrial facilities scheduled to be commissioned for the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence.
The President of Turkmenistan emphasized the need to carry out wheat sowing within the established agronomic timeframes, begin the cotton harvest in an organized manner and take all necessary measures to harvest the crop without losses. The Head of State instructed officials to maintain strict oversight of the timely and high-quality completion of construction at the planned facilities.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahallyýew reported on preparations to begin the cotton harvest in the regions on September 9 this year. It was noted that wheat sowing is continuing and that necessary measures are being taken to ensure the efficient operation of agricultural machinery and provide producers with high-quality seeds.
The President highlighted the important role of agriculture in the national economy and instructed officials to ensure the highly organized conduct of seasonal agricultural work. He also emphasized the need for timely settlements with wheat and cotton producers and service organizations.
