President of Turkmenistan Signs Decree on Discharge from Military Service and Regular Conscription

The President of Turkmenistan has signed a document entitled “On the Discharge from Military Service of Servicemen Performing Compulsory Military Service from the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan, Other Troops and Military Bodies, and on the Regular Conscription of Citizens of Turkmenistan for Military Service.”

This was reported by the “Watan” news program.

As noted, the document, adopted in accordance with the Constitution of Turkmenistan and the Law of Turkmenistan “On Military Duty and Military Service,” provides for:

— the discharge, during October–December 2026, of servicemen performing compulsory military service who have completed the terms of service established by the Law of Turkmenistan “On Military Duty and Military Service” from the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan, other troops and military bodies;

— the conscription, during October–December 2026, of male citizens of Turkmenistan who have reached the age of 18 by the date of conscription and who are not entitled to exemption from or deferment of military service, as well as male citizens under the age of 27 who have lost their right to deferment;

— the Decree entering into force on the date of its official publication.

In addition, in order to implement the relevant Decree of the President of Turkmenistan “On the Discharge from Military Service of Servicemen Performing Compulsory Military Service from the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan, Other Troops and Military Bodies, and on the Regular Conscription of Citizens of Turkmenistan for Military Service,” the President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan, signed an Order.

Under the document, the Minister of Defense of Turkmenistan, the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Minister of National Security, the Head of the State Border Service, the Head of the Security Service of the President of Turkmenistan, and the Head of the State Migration Service were instructed to organize, in accordance with established plans, ceremonial discharges of servicemen who have completed the terms of service prescribed by the Law of Turkmenistan “On Military Duty and Military Service,” and to reward those who distinguished themselves in combat and social-humanitarian training.
