Development of Tennis Discussed

Turkmenistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Wepa Hajyýew, met with International Tennis Federation President David Haggerty in New York. Eziz Döwletow, Chairman of the Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan, also attended the meeting.

According to the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the UN, the parties discussed further strengthening cooperation between Turkmenistan and the ITF, including the preparation of a memorandum of understanding and a joint action roadmap, as well as expanding established ties and exchanges of experience between their sports organizations.

Particular attention was given to the possibility of holding junior tennis tournaments in Turkmenistan under the auspices of the ITF beginning in 2027.

The parties confirmed their mutual interest in further developing tennis and international sports cooperation.
