National Leader of the Turkmen People Congratulates President of Turkmenistan on Receiving an Honorary Doctorate from Sungkyunkwan University

The National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, on behalf of the Turkmen people and the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, sincerely congratulated President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the successful completion of his state visit to the Republic of Korea during these historic days marking the glorious 35th anniversary of the country’s Independence, as well as on being awarded an honorary doctorate in political science by Sungkyunkwan University and receiving the Honorary Badge and special certificate of the Korea International Trade Association.

Diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea were established in 1992. Since then, cooperation has steadily intensified in specific areas, and major initiatives have been implemented in the interests of the peoples of both countries. Our visits to this friendly country over the years, as well as agreements reached at the highest level, have contributed to the dynamic development of Turkmen-Korean relations.

Your current state visit to the Republic of Korea was also distinguished by its rich and substantive agenda and opened a new chapter in the history of interstate cooperation. The high-level talks held in Seoul, the documents signed, the Turkmen-Korean Business Forum and other events demonstrate that relations between the two friendly countries are reaching a new level.

Your participation in the Central Asia–Republic of Korea Summit demonstrates our country’s strong interest in advancing multilateral cooperation within this format.

Your participation in the Turkmen-Korean Business Forum and the specific proposals and initiatives you put forward are of great importance for further enriching the experience accumulated over many years of cooperation and expanding interaction in high-tech areas such as the green economy, smart cities and artificial intelligence.
