Turkmen specialists are invited to participate in the International Artificial Intelligence Film Festival

Kazakhstan will host the first international festival of films created using artificial intelligence technologies — the «Astana AI Film Festival» (AAIFF 2026). Alongside media organizations, creative teams and independent authors from different countries around the world, specialists from Turkmenistan are also invited to participate in this event.

The main information partner of the festival is the Television and Radio Complex of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which is part of the Office of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The international news agency «Kazinform» also operates within its structure.

The main competition theme of «AAIFF 2026» is called «A Future Worth Living». Participants will have the opportunity to present their unique visions of the future with the help of artificial intelligence.

The open competition section will be held in five categories: best directing, best visual language, most impactful story, most interesting concept, and best character development.

According to the main competition requirements, participants must submit a «Full AI» short film with a duration of no more than 10 minutes. The total prize fund of the competition will amount to 1 million US dollars.

The organizers pay special attention to ensuring that all submitted films fully comply with copyright requirements. The works will be evaluated by international experts, directors, producers and representatives of the creative technology industry. The possibility of using an artificial intelligence-based judging system during the preliminary selection stage is also being considered.

As a result, 25 of the best works will be selected. Ten of them will belong to the main competition program, while fifteen will be included in the open competition section.

Applications for participation in the festival will be accepted until August 15 of this year. Film screenings and the award ceremony for the winners will take place as part of «Astana AI Week», which will be held in Astana from September 28 to October 1.

The participation of Turkmen representatives in this international festival will contribute to promoting national content on the global stage. The event will also create opportunities for Turkmen specialists to demonstrate their capabilities in the field of artificial intelligence, exchange experience with foreign colleagues, and become familiar with new technologies and modern trends.
