Turkmen specialists were trained in airport inspection methods
From August 3 to 7, 2026, in Ashgabat, representatives of the Transport Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan, the State Border Service, the State Customs Service, and the Aviation Security Service of the “Türkmenhowaýollary” State Service took part in a training seminar on analyzing smuggling risks and airport inspection methods organized by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe.
The OSCE Centre in Ashgabat organized the training event jointly with Türkiye’s International Academy for Combating Smuggling and Organized Crime.
The aim of the training was to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively prevent smuggling at airports.
During the training, detailed attention was given to risk assessment and the profiling of flights, passengers, cargo and baggage.
Participants discussed methods for identifying suspicious passenger behavior, procedures for profiling passengers from the moment they enter the airport until boarding the aircraft, as well as techniques for conducting effective interviews and questioning of suspicious individuals.
