Spain became two-time world champions after defeating Argentina in the 2026 World Cup final

Spain defeated Argentina in the final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The match at a stadium in New Jersey ended 1–0. Neither team managed to score during regulation time. In the 106th minute of extra time, Spanish midfielder Ferran Torres found the back of the net.

In the third minute of stoppage time in the second half, Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernández received a second yellow card for a reckless foul in the centre of the pitch and was sent off.

Spain became two-time world champions. The Spanish team last won the trophy in 2010 in South Africa.
