The President of Turkmenistan held a working meeting via a digital system

On July 27, the President of Turkmenistan held a working meeting via a digital system with the participation of Minister of Agriculture Ch. Chetiyev and the hyakims of the regions. The meeting addressed matters related to the work being carried out in the country’s agricultural sector and regions.

The floor was first given to the Hyakim of Ahal Region, T. Nurmyradov, who reported on the seasonal agricultural activities under way in the region.

As noted, as part of preparations for laying the foundation for next year’s wheat harvest, ploughing, land levelling and soil enrichment with mineral fertilisers are being carried out on fields cleared after the grain harvest. The necessary measures are being taken to prepare agricultural machinery and wheat seeds for the sowing season.

The required crop-care activities are being performed on the region’s cotton fields in accordance with agricultural standards. Measures are also being taken to combat pests.

At the same time, the sowing of autumn potatoes, vegetables, melons and other agricultural crops continues in the region. Crop-care activities are being carried out on the sown fields.

The necessary measures are being taken to ensure timely settlements between wheat and cotton producers and service enterprises and organisations for work performed for the 2026 harvest.

The Hyakim also reported on the progress of construction at social, cultural and industrial facilities scheduled to be commissioned in the region this year in accordance with the National Rural Programme.

After hearing the report, the President of Turkmenistan stressed the importance of properly carrying out the agricultural measures under way on the region’s farmland, particularly cotton-care and pest-control activities, organising preparations for wheat sowing, and ensuring timely settlements between producers and service enterprises and organisations. The Hyakim was given specific instructions in this regard.

The head of state also instructed that the high-quality and timely completion of construction work at buildings and facilities scheduled to be commissioned in the region this year under the National Rural Programme be kept under constant supervision.

The Hyakim of Balkan Region, R. Jumayev, then reported on the agricultural activities under way in the region.

As noted, relevant work is currently being carried out to prepare fields cleared after the wheat harvest, agricultural machinery and high-quality wheat seeds for the upcoming sowing season.

Inter-row cultivation, vegetative irrigation, fertilisation with mineral fertilisers and measures to prevent the emergence of pests are being carried out on cotton fields.

To successfully fulfil the tasks aimed at further strengthening food abundance in the country, the necessary measures are being taken to prepare fields intended for the autumn planting of potatoes and other vegetable and melon crops.

The necessary work is also being carried out to ensure timely settlements between wheat and cotton producers and service enterprises and organisations for work performed for this year’s harvest.

The Hyakim also reported on the progress of the work planned in the region for the current year in accordance with the country’s socio-economic development programmes.

After hearing the report, the President of Turkmenistan drew attention to the importance of the ongoing seasonal agricultural activities. In this regard, he instructed the Hyakim to ensure that cotton-care and pest-control measures are performed in accordance with agricultural standards, that proper preparations are made for wheat sowing, and that settlements between agricultural producers and service enterprises and organisations are completed on time.

The head of state also instructed that the high-quality and timely implementation of work carried out in the region under the National Rural Programme be kept under supervision.

The Hyakim of Dashoguz Region, D. Babayev, then reported on the seasonal agricultural activities under way in the region.

As noted, ploughing and land-levelling activities are currently being carried out in accordance with agricultural standards on fields designated for sowing wheat for next year’s harvest. At the same time, relevant work is being undertaken to prepare agricultural machinery and high-quality wheat seeds for the sowing season.

Inter-row cultivation, fertilisation with mineral fertilisers, vegetative irrigation and measures to prevent the emergence of pests are being carried out in a coordinated manner on the region’s cotton fields.

At the same time, autumn vegetables, melons and other agricultural crops are being sown in the region, and crop-care work is being conducted on the fields.

Care and mineral-fertiliser application continue on the region’s rice fields in accordance with agricultural standards.

The necessary measures are being taken to ensure timely settlements between wheat and cotton producers and service enterprises and organisations for work performed for the 2026 harvest.

Addressing the participants in the working meeting, the head of state once again drew attention to the seasonal agricultural activities currently under way and instructed that the timely and high-quality implementation of agricultural measures be strictly monitored.

Concluding the working meeting held via a digital system, the President of Turkmenistan wished its participants good health, family well-being and great success in their work.
